The Impression of Water

The Impression of Water is a short film which explores the interaction of reflection, color, brightness, and movement through liquid space. Using food coloring, tap water, glitter, and mylar I created an oceanscape within a glass vase. Deep reds and bright blues reflect on silver sheets within the whirlpool of light. The film explores visuals of peace and war and everything in between in an oceanic galaxy.
About the Artist
Johanna Jackson is a multidisciplinary artist from Fairfield Connecticut. They explore light through film, photography, and theatrical design. Johanna Jackson graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Fine Arts with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology with a focus in Lighting Design. They are currently the resident Lighting Designer at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre and enjoy pursuing creative light projects in their free time.
